Families can enjoy leisurely bike rides along rivers or former railway lines, where there is plenty to discover. Our cycle paths are numbered throughout according to the motto ‘cycling by numbers’, so you can easily plan your favourite tours. Road cyclists will also find an extensive network of routes here, where they can cycle through valleys with idyllic landscapes and climb many a mountain stage.
Numerous places to stop for refreshments and sights along the routes round off the perfect cycle tour.
Planning a cycle tour can be so easy. With the help of the junction system, you can even go on a cycle tour without the hassle of maps.
The junction system, which is already well established in the Netherlands, has now also been introduced in the Sauerland and Siegen-Wittgenstein regions!
The cycle path network has been divided into honeycomb sections. Numbered ‘junction points’ have been created at the corners of each honeycomb, connecting the honeycombs to each other.
The corresponding signage indicates the nearest junction points. These are then marked with a corresponding number. Information boards regularly show the location and the nearest honeycombs. This allows you to extend or shorten your tour as you wish.
